MyAnus is great this time of year!

Animal Crossing is the black hole of gaming. It sucks you in with its simple, yet extremely addicting gameplay and charm. There is something about doing nothing that makes gamers flock to this game like male pigs to.....female pigs. You get the point. Anyhow- I wanted my readers to either post their friend codes, or e-mail me yours. If you haven't guessed it, my town name is MyAnus. If anyone out there wants to visit MyANUS, shoot me an e-mail, or post your friend code. I would love to come to your town and visit with all the fellow animals. What's the name of your town? MyAnus is fantastic this time of year! Everyone should visit MyAnus! (I hope that this doesn't offend any of our readers. This was meant to be funny and is the real name of my town) Game ON!

The Countdown has begun

10 days. 10 days gamers. In 10 days, Nintendo will release some more info on their 5th console codenamed Revolution. In 10 days, Mr. Reggie will speak at D.I.C.E. Will we be disappointed? I'm not sure; all I know is that Nintendo themselves stated in Nintendo Power to watch out on February 9th 2006. My mind is a buzz with what could go down. Will we find out the last secret that Nintendo has been hiding? Will we hear anything about the new Mario title that is inevitably coming? Release dates? SCREEN SHOTS? SOMETHING....ANYTHING?!!?!??!? My guess- I think we'll get some more hype and possibly a release date. Anything further would be a surprise. What do you guys think? Is Nintendo going to tease us, or are we going to get some solid info? Only time will tell, but we will be here to report it. Game ON!

Nintendo=DS+GBA, Sony=PSP, Microsoft=XBOY?

I know that this news is NOT Nintendo news. However- it is my duty to bring you all of the up-to-the-minute video game news that my readers so greatly crave. My readers are hungry for every and any interesting video game news that I can conjure up. So here it is folks- Hot off the heels of the recently announced Nintendo DS lite, it seems as though handhelds are getting a lot of... play so to speak. There is now a rumor running rampant that the juggernaut that is Micro$oft might be entering in the handheld realm. It seems as though the device would be more of an ipodish device that would be able to play video games. This rumor comes courtesy of businessweek. Do you guys think this is a stab towards Nintendo or a low blow to Sony PSP? Who knows-- all I know is that I will be playing Mario Kart DS online tonight and ponder what BIG BILLY G is up to.... more as it develops...

Size comparison of DS lite vs DS

Here is a quick snapshot of what the difference between Nintendo DS and DS lite will be. (Thanks joystiq for the pic.)

DS lite

After what seemed to be a rollercoaster of news and rumors, Nintendo has finally let the cat out of the bag. Introducing, Nintendo DS lite. The news comes from Nintendo of Japan's website. It's a sleek version of what we own folks. It's apple white (a trend that everyone seems to have now-a-days) and weighs less than the current DS. And yes, this is real. More as it develops! Game ON.

NO DS REDESIGN FOR YOU

Apparently there are currently no plans on redesigning our WI-FI playin', stylus touchin', micro-phone talking, super sleek system that we call the Nintendo DS. This story comes from Gameindustrybiz.com. I'm not sure what to believe. Internet reports were abuzz last month with rumors of a redesign on the system but now reports are saying otherwise. I think it would be a good move on Nintendo's part and with the success of the SP, we might in fact one day see something. As always, we will keep you updated on the latest!

The wait will be worth it!

Twilight Princess. 2 words mean so much for the legion of fans for the series. Twilight Princess is the game that will put Nintendo back on the map. Twilight Princess will be the game to play this year. Pay attention Nintendo. EVERYBODY wants this one! The pain of waiting will all be erased when we crack open the game and place it into our systems. According to Nintendo power, the enemies are going to be something to talk about. Enemies will be more challenging, blades will bleed, and the evil Gannon will be ever present. Numerous sources have been saying that Gannon will play an important part in the new game. I'm anxious to see what that exactly means. Huge battles, tough enemies, beautiful graphics. Gamers rejoice, for link will rise up again! GAME ON!

Tales of Tempest

If anyone has played the Tales game for the Gamecube, you'll know that we are in for a treat when the DS version comes. I loved this one on the cube so naturally I cannot wait for this one to come stateside. No word on any release date but given the success of Symphonia, and the fact that Tales of Phantasia is coming here, it's a safe bet for Tempest to come here to. The game is shaping up to be pretty good. It's fully 3-d and the environments look similar to the Gamecube version. What's not to love. Looks like the DS is going to have another stellar year.

Earthbound, Japan Bound!

Looks like the Cult hit Earthbound (Mother 3 in Japan), is coming to GBA this spring for Japan. We can keep our fingers crossed for this one to come here to the states! Personally, I would love to play the old game on my DS and not have to wait to download it on my shiny new Nintendo Revolution System. We'll have to wait and see my fellow gamers. I'll post pics once I can get my hands on them!

Revolution pulling in the big guns

Thanks to http://www.kotaku.com for providing what seems to be some pretty interesting stuff in regards to Nintendo Revolution. Nothing is confirmed at this time so I will post this as rumor. However, this is professional looking. I am getting extremely excited about this so I hope this one is correct. The guns look amazing and with the revolution controller, they'll actually FEEL amazing! GAME ON!

A next Generation game, for a next Generation System?

Thanks to our friends from http://www.gonintendo.comthey recently posted an interesting picture that could be from a Nintendo Revolution game. Real?? I hope so. I also love the little tag line. More as this develops. Game ON!

Start Monkeying around earlier, No Wi-Fi for you

Super Monkey Ball has a cult following that could rival those of star wars, well maybe not that big, but you get the point. Anyway- Super Monkey Ball touch and roll will now be shipping for the DS earlier than expected. The new ship date is February 21st. The game will Feature 50 new addictive stages and wireless game play with up to 4 players. Monkey wars and monkey hockey are going to be the big draws. NO Wi-Fi is expected for the title though. Oh well- I guess we'll have to look for the sequel... Can you imagine monkey ball online though......

SEGA!

It looks like sonic will be racing his way onto Nintendo's Revolution. No huge secret because of the success seen with the blue hero on Nintendo's current console. The kicker? It will be an ALL NEW original title that will use the controllers functionality and will not be available for other next gen systems. It's great to see 3rd parties backing up what they are saying about the big N's system and especially nice to see love from sega.

What's your New Year's Resolution?

Nintendo's executive VP of sales and marketing Reggie Fil-Aime stated in a recent interview he had five resolutions for the industry in 2006.
1) "keeping our eyes on the prize"
2) "keeping mass in the mass audience"
3) "stop turning away new players"
4) "to turn game development into a democracy of great ideas"
5) "improving the way consumers play and get into games"

Reggie states that Nintendo will have the "most entertaining products in the marketplace." They'll keep gamers in gaming by making sure the cost of their systems doesn't shut out consumers by being "too exclusive and expensive."

He also says Nintendo will stop turning away new players by trying to focus on a "wide range of consumers" instead of niche markets. They'll accomplish that with "affordable" game development costs on the Revolution. This is a common trend that Nintendo seems to be following as of late and it will be interesting to see how this will turn out for them.

Aime also goes on to state that the Nintendo Revolution will launch with a wide array of games available ranging from all sorts of genre's. Entertaining software, backward compatability, new innovative control scheme! Is anyone else excited! Like I always say GAME ON!

Can you pass the Revolution?

Get ready kids, it looks like Nintendo might be serving up Revolution in time for thanksgiving dinner. Various internet sources are now saying November looks to be the target release date for Nintendo's next system. Come on Nintendo- pull an apple and do a surprise release and bring it out earlier! Rumors were pointing to a possible May release but now it seems to be false. We will have to wait and see. Can you guys wait till November? Game ON!

Metroid Prime Hunters Boxart

Nintendo has released the box art for the upcoming Wi-Fi shooter Metroid Prime Hunters. March looks like a solid release for this one! Keep it here for friend code exchanges and updates! This one looks to be amazing. This seems to be Nintendo's baby and killer app for online. In my opinion, this one is going to be HUGE! Game ON Nintendo!

I am proud to announce we are moving on up! Gameonrevolution will soon be changed to a dot com name. Thanks for our followers. The revolution is spreading! Be apart of it. Spread the revolution gamers! GAME ON!

Nintendo DS Re-design Tomorrow?

Just a quick note, there is a rumor going around that the Nintendo DS will be getting a re-design very very soon. So soon in fact that we might even see something as early as tomorrow. Be sure to keep it here with up to the minute updates! Thanks for checking here, What do you think- does the DS need a re-design?
*UPDATE*- Rumors do sometimes prove to be false. Today Nintendo has not released anything about a re-design as rumored. However- I do expect the big N to reveal a re-design later this year...... Possibly at D.I.C.E. (next month) or possible E3. We will keep you posted!

No News=Not-so-Good News

Did you ever hear the expression, no news is good news. I am here to tell everyone that that statement is false when it comes to Nintendo fans! It seems that we are about a month out on hearing anything truly new from the big N and I am in need if something new! We are an elite group of gamers starved for information regarding anything Nintendo. We are a group of gamers that understand that violence and sports aren't all what games need to be. We need innovation. We need fun new experiences. We need to stay up late and beat the last castle or unlock that new nintendo character. WE NEED MARIO! WE NEED POKEMON, Heck we even need the EVIL GANNON . And we will take violent and sports games too. All I am saying is that we understand what fun and games are all about. With Nintendo, we get a wide array of games. Ones that are sports, innovative, old, new and some downright weird. Nintendo has long been the creator and not a follower. They are the pioneers of videogames. I commend them for trying to do something different. D.I.C.E is coming up in February and our friend Reggie will be speaking on Nintendo's behalf. Let's hope there's more info on the revolution. We will be here to give you all info that is Nintendo. Game on!

??????REVOLUTION??????

We all know Nintendo's new system as our beloved revolution. This is the system that will change gaming forever. This is the system that will both bring back memories of old and create all new experiences. This is the system that will bring families together to play games with everyone; not just a single member. The name Nintendo Revolution just seems to fit with the new system. It has a sense of mystery and totally describes everything that the big N is aiming for. However, if you don't know, Nintendo may come up with a different name before the system is released. I have been hearing everything under the sun as to what the name might be. EVERYTHING! Well folks, here's my best guess. NRS. NRS...... has a nice ring to it doesn't it. What is NRS you say? Well, if you do notice, it has a striking resemblance to Nintendo DS, (which we all know how that little machine is doing). NRS. NINTENDO REVOLUTION SYSTEM. NRS, keeps the name revolution but simplifies it to make it attractive. Nintendo RS definitely has my vote for the next console name for Nintendo. What do you guys think? Come up with something and post it! I'll respond to your answers.

iam8bit.net

Hey if you want to check out some nostalgic art, head over to http://www.iam8bit.net and take a trip down memory lane. I love the artwork presented in the website and a lot of it is Nintendo related. iam8bit also has a book coming out in April. Enjoy!

Nintendo Revolution=NEW FUN!

The whole idea behind Nintendo's new system is that they want to change the way we play games. Video games are made for the enjoyment of their players. Some are hard, some are simple, some are addictive, and some look amazing. With the revolution, I think Nintendo is aiming to hit on all of these subjects. They will redefine the way we look at games and forever change the landscape of the industry. Numerous websites are reporting that the powers that be over at Nintendo want a video game to leave a smile on the player and really make them enjoy what they are playing. This has me getting a very positive vibe coming out of the company. We need to take a step back and look at what will progress us further to enjoy our video entertainment. I want to be able to play a game with my wife as well as a bunch of buddies on a Friday night. With WI-FI out of the box, a innovative (to say the least) controller, and optimistic 3rd party support, we may truly have a winner for this next gen war. Are you in? Are you ready for a Revolution? GAME ON! *Be sure to check back with all the up-to-the-minute Nintendo coverage* Also head on over to Gonintendo.com for all of your LIVE CES NEWS!

Nintendo going VR

Nintendo representatives were looking at eMagin's Z800 3D Visor, which uses VR technology. The item's resemblance to the ill-fated Virtual Boy is unmistakable, and reports say that Nintendo has already purchased several of the Z800 units and expressed interest in the technology. This news comes courtesy of Nintendojo.com and other various websites. What is going on?

It seems unlikely that the VR applications of eMagin's visor can be utilized in time to make Revolution's launch, but the fact that Nintendo, as well as other software and hardware makers, is showing such interest in the process could offer a hint about the future of gaming. Can you imagine actually jumping into the mushroom kingdom, or being in Hyrule?!?!?!

DS SP?

It seems that a redesign for Nintendo DS is on the horizon. According to Famitsu we can see the new design for the DS possibly spring of this year. No word as to exactly when, but as soon as we here something, we'll let you know. Thanks for checking this out. What do you guys think? Does the DS need a redesign or is it fine the way it is?

Contact

Check out these screen shots of a upcoming Nintendo DS ONLINE rpg. I'm really hoping that they bring this one over here. All we can do is hope and pray. The gaame looks pretty cool and I was wondering what the online aspect will be. All I know so far is that the game in entitled contact. Hurray for WI-FI Nintendo. Gamers are taking notice!

They love us they really love us

We here at Gameonrevolution want to send a shout out to our friends over at GONINTENDO.COM They are an amazing website with all the up-to-date info you need for all Nintendo stuff (much like ourselves). 10 Million can't be bad

More good news from Nintendo in regards to the DS. 10 MILLION units have been sold globally.
"At a time when some sectors of the video game industry are softening, Nintendo DS and the Game Boy Advance line remain shining stars because of their fun experiences and innovative game play," says Nintendo VP Reggie Fils-Aime. "It's important to note that these strong figures represent Nintendo hand-held units and games that consumers have purchased and are now enjoying at home or wherever they like to play."
Amazing! Keep it up Nintendo. Everyone owes it to themselves to play Mario Kart online at least once.

The Magic Animal Crossing 8 Ball?

Apparently there is some sort of head gear that you can purchase in the new Animal Crossing game for the Nintendo DS that is very reminiscent of the Nintendo ON virtual headset. For those who missed it, the Nintendo ON was a fake teaser video clip of a headset that gamers would wear and would take them into their games by means of virtual reality. The rumor quickly got squashed and no real footage was shown from Nintendo to help support this. Let's all remember there is still one more secret left in Nintnedo's big bag of tricks. Could this be a sign of things to come? Maybe....All I know is that Nintendo should take notice just how many people are talking about their revolution. This news was from Gonintendo.com.

GAME ON!

What are your thoughts?

With all this talk about change in the industry, possible release dates, back catalogs and everything in between, I was wondering if I could get some of your views on the subjects. Post a comment, make a suggestion, let us know what you think. HAVE YOUR VOICE BE HEARD! Do you think change is good? How do you think Nintendo perform in this next generation? Can they once again regain greatness or are they doomed? Have fun and bookmark us! This is our passion and we will give you updates every single day my friends. Thanks!

Revolution coming in May?!

I have managed a video game store for years and still have contacts in the industry. I am now hearing more and more that Nintendo may indeed release their new system in May OF THIS YEAR. I have heard from my source that they will release it here first in the states and then in Japan. It makes sense considering that Nintendo has nothing to worry about over seas because of the 360 flop, and how well their little handheld is doing. Keep in mind we also got Mario Kart DS first too...... Interesting to say the least.

Can you imagine if we could be playing our new system in 5 months? SEE YOU ONLINE WITH SMASH BROTHERS!

Love from Ubi

“The Revolution controller breaks the ‘push button’ experience of other platforms, where the player must go through an abstract action-pushing a button-to complete an action. With the Revolution, the action is completely natural and physical. We can propose new types of interactions that are easy and fun, as they rely on a simple gesture. We can translate into video game interactions all the tools you manipulate with your hand: the sculptor’s tool, the doctor’s scalpel, the fireman’s hose…imagine you are a doctor curing patients or an architect who builds his own house! It opens up so many possibilities that we already have too many ideas. All the designers that I’ve spoken with at Ubisoft are buzzing with amazing ideas.”

This quote from Ubisoft is from the most recent Nintendo Power. It has been floating around for a bit, and I have been meaning to post it so there it is for ya. I love the positive attitude that game companies are portraying with the Revolution. It seems as if the fun of game developement…and games in general is coming back into play. The creative juices are flowing!

Another Secret

It has been revealed that the Nintendo Revolution has another trick up its sleeve. It appears that Nintendo has not showed its hand fully yet in the next gen wars. Earlier this week, Nintendo revealed that they had yet ANOTHER secret for their next console. Specifics were not given but I have been hearing rumors of a steady flow of info coming SOON. Keep up the faith gamers, Something big is about to happen! Be there when it does. Out.
